This is a small fresco done in the bon fresco tradition. Painted into fresh calcium hydroxide with natural pigments ground from minerals a clay pigments. This work is after Piero della Francesca. The figure appears in a large fresco found in the basilica of San Francesco in Arezzo Italy.
