This etching is produced in a limited edition of 100 and is after a Rembrandt etching The Tribute Money. This etching is made to the approximate size of the Rembrandt original.

This etching and drypoint is after Rembrandt's Goldsmith done in 1655 when Rembrandt was fourty nine years old. The plate is slightly smaller than Rembrandt's original plate at 21/4 inches wide.

Studies for Kneeling Draped Figure

This etching is after Michelangelo's drawing, Studies for Kneeling Draped Figure, in the Albertina in Vienna. The etching is twenty five percent the size of Michelangelo's drawing. I tried to get the tonal values in the drapery right, this was the challenge of this piece.

This etching is after Rembrandt and was done to the same scale as the original Rembrandt plate. The original was done in 1633 when Rembrandt was twenty seven years old. I Iearned a lot doing this plate. The modeling in the trees and the background presented a challenge.

This is a study of a pan handler in Ottawa. He sat in the same place every day for several years with his dog. Sadly he died within a week of my doing this etching. I had given him an impression of this etching which he carried with him.

After Michelangelo Study of Legs for a Reclining Figure

This is a study after Michelangelo's study of legs for a reclining figure in the Florence Casa Buonarroti. The etching is one half the size of the original drawing. I memorized the calligraphy of the original drawing and then drew directly on to the plate without any reference to the drawing. Thus presenting a challenging memory study. This explains why the impression is the reverse of the original Michelangelo drawing. Notice I even included a simulated bloch of ink which exists in the original by Michelangelo.

This is a study after Rembrandt's Bust of an old bearded man, done when Rembrandt was twenty five years old. This etching was done to the approximate scale of the original Rembrandt.

Wrist Study

This is a study of the bones in a human wrist done from life. This etching was drawn from life, directly onto the plate with a needle. The bone you see to the right of the image is the lower bone in the thumb.

Mireille's Knee

This is a study of a knee done from life with two lighting sources. The inspiration for this was Henry Moore's elephant skull series of etchings.

This etching is after a Rembrandt etching, a self portrait that Rembrandt did when he was 26 years old. The plate size is the approximate size of the Rembrandt original. It is interesting to note that the Rembrant original has been enlarged and is hanging near the entrance of rembrandthuis (Rembrandt's former home) in Amsterdam.
